Seeing...
The one who sees darkness has eyes through which he can see light. The one who says that darkness is everything after seeing darkness is an atheist and the one who starts searching for light after seeing darkness is a theist. Opposites always exist together, where there is sorrow, there will be happiness; where there is birth, there will be death. If you have experienced anger in life, then compassion will also be hidden somewhere, if you have recognized hatred, then love is also somewhere which needs to be searched. Sartre says that darkness is everything, sorrow is everything, sadness is everything, hell is hell, there is no heaven. Buddha and Sartre both say the same thing till here but Buddha thought that if there is sorrow then why is it there? It dominates man, what are the methods to end it? How will sorrow stop? Sartre started living by accepting darkness. If we also start living like this, then life will be filled with monotony, we will not accept the flower. We will suffer and no one will support us. If our pain is not motivating us to seek happiness, then we want to remain stuck in one point.
We say in our childhood that everything was heaven but if we think deeply then there is no such wonder that makes it heaven. There is an old Sufi story that a Fakir was sitting in the forest and he used to see a woodcutter cutting wood and taking it away everyday. Seeing his condition, his poverty, his torn clothes- the Fakir felt pity. The woodcutter used to touch his feet. Once the Fakir said that go ahead of the place where you cut wood and go further. The woodcutter went ahead of the place where he used to cut wood and found a whole forest of sandalwood trees, he cut sandalwood and sold it in the market and earned a lot of money. That night he cried a lot that if till now he had cut and sold these woods then poverty would have been eradicated. The next day, when the woodcutter was cutting sandalwood, he thought that the Fakir had not said to cut sandalwood wood, but had said to go further. So he did not cut the wood and went ahead and saw a silver mine, then he went further and found a gold mine and then he reached a diamond mine. This is the limit of God's reach, we are only cutting wood while God is present ahead.
